The Kobe fireworks display is held on the first Saturday of August every year. This is the same day as the bigger Yodogawa fireworks display in Osaka, but Kobe is much more photogenic so it's worth making the trip.
The cherry blossoms were in full-bloom yesterday so I took a trip to Heian-shrine in Kyoto with my new camera.
As a skateboarder I'm not a big fan of rain, but I have to say neon lights and wet streets make a good subject for photography.
It's impossible to ignore the deep red of the Japanese maple surrounding shrines and temples and the bright yellow of the ginkgo lining the city streets around Japan during Autumn.
